Have you ever wondered how to seamlessly sport your Fitbit and watch together, all while maintaining style and functionality? Look no further!

In this ultimate guide, we’re about to unlock the secrets to effortlessly striking the ideal balance between fashion and tech. Whether you’re a fitness fanatic or a trendsetter, these invaluable tips and tricks for accessorising confidently will help you maximise the potential of your wrist real estate.

Read on to discover why you might want to wear both at once, the best pairings, and the myriad ways to ace this unexpected combo.

Why Wear a Fitbit and Watch Together?

Fitbits tell the time. So why would anyone want to wear a Fitbit and watch together?

While it might not seem like the most obvious pairing, the reason some people choose to wear both is simple: they like the look of a ‘real watch’ and they also like the health metrics provided by Fitbit.

While the appeal of watches is obvious, those unfamiliar with Fitbits might wonder why anyone would want to wear Fitbit devices every day.

Like most activity trackers, Fitbits feature several tools for monitoring your fitness data. Like Apple watches, Fitbit’s fitness tracking features vary from model to model, ranging from basic (on the Fitbit Inspire) to quite advanced (on the Fitbit Sense). Depending on which model you opt for, the popular fitness trackers might include:

  • sleep tracking
  • Heart rate data via heart rate monitor
  • fitness level
  • heart rate variability
  • calorie intake (on the app)
  • step count
  • active zone minutes
  • oxygen levels

In short, people choose to wear Fitbits with watches because they want the fitness features — but they also want to wear a regular watch.

Crafting the perfect Fitbit and Watch Combo

The first thing to consider when matching your Fitbit with your watch is aesthetics.

It’s best if both share similar features to highlight the intentionality of the pairing.

For example, a sleek, black Fitbit Charge doesn’t look as good paired with a dainty gold watch as does would with a sporty, black-dial watch. The dainty, gold watch, on the other hand, would match far better with a complementary gold Fitbit Luxe to create cohesion between the two accessories.

In addition to colour, you should also consider strap material. If you have a watch with a metal bracelet, you might consider investing in a bracelet-style Fitbit strap to create a uniform look. On the other hand, sportier watch straps, including leather or nylon, work better with Fitbit’s standard silicone bands.

In addition to aesthetics, you’ll want to consider size. If you have an oversized watch and a chunky Fitbit, the combination might be overwhelming when worn together. In general, if you plan to wear your Fitbit tracker with a watch, the smaller models will look more seamless. We recommend avoiding the large Fitbit Sense and instead suggest styles like the Fitbit Inspire, Fitbit Charge, or super-subtle Fitbit Flex.

Wearing a Watch and Fitbit Together

So you’ve got your perfect pair figured out, now what?

In addition to finding the right combo, it’s equally important to figure out how to wear both pieces at once.

Both On One wrist

One option for wearing a watch and Fitbit together is to wear both on the same wrist.

An important factor to consider when doing this, however, is that you’ll want to ensure that the heart rate sensors are positioned well enough to register an accurate heart rate. For this reason, we recommend wearing your Fitbit higher up on your wrist than your watch below it.

While it ultimately comes down to personal preference, the reason for this suggestion is that wearing your Fitbit higher up will ensure that it maintains enough contact with your arm to gather data. If you wear your Fitbit below your watch, you risk it being slightly too loose or moving around on your hand too much.

If you do choose to wear both accessories on one wrist, we recommend wearing them on your non-dominant hand – the same way regular watches are typically.

One On Each Wrist

Another way to wear a Fitbit and watch simultaneously is to wear one on your right wrist and one on your left wrist. Doing so not only breaks up the look of the two pieces but also allows the best features of each device to shine. When worn together, the modern look of the Fitbit can overpower elegant, traditional watches, so splitting them up is a great way to let each accessory shine from its respective fashion standpoints.

Technically speaking, wearing your Fitbit on the other wrist can also help improve accuracy as you can more easily ensure that it’s in the best place on your wrist to keep track of steps and other daily activities.

Other Alternatives

If you still think that wearing a Fitbit and watch together is too much, why not consider alternatives?

For some people, a wrist fitness tracker might not seem like a good match for their watch, but other devices offer Fitbit features in alternative ways.

Brands like Oura Ring have developed jewellery-like fitness trackers, while others have created performance-specific dedicated fitness trackers that can be worn on your chest or biceps during exercise.
